FSM Associate Program
The Associate Program is intended for recent college graduates and young professionals who are interested in pursuing a career within the sports and entertainment industry. Specific roles within the program are below.
SPONSORSHIP SALES
Department Overview:
The FSM Sponsorship Sales team is responsible for generating revenue by developing and selling sponsorship platforms, working across the portfolio of FSM properties including: the Boston Red Sox, Liverpool FC, NESN, Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Springhill Company.
Role Responsibilities:
Associates will be expected to develop the same skills and responsibilities as the rest of the Sponsorship Sales team, including:
- Prospecting and developing new business
- Researching and developing category strategies
- Scheduling client introductions and meetings
- Preparing presentations, proposals and RFP responses
- Manage internal communications across departments during the proposal building process
- Providing weekly status reports and client updates in a structured and formal format as provided and directed by FSM via CRM (and FSM management)
- Providing client hospitality support during Red Sox games at Fenway throughout the season as necessary
SPECIAL EVENTS
Department Overview:
The FSM Special Events team is responsible for prospecting, securing, planning and executing large scale, non-Red Sox events. Events, past and present, include the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, Frozen Fenway, Notre Dame’s Shamrock Series, the Fenway Gridiron Series, the AIG Fenway Hurling Classic & Irish Festival and several Movie Nights.
Role Responsibilities:
Associates will be expected to develop the same skills and responsibilities as the rest of the Special Events team, including:
- Working closely with Special Events Team and event partners to plan all details leading up to events, including but not limited to: operations, logistics and budgeting
- Participating in meetings to provide recommendations for new events, improving annual events, and research about sporting events at other venues worldwide
- Responding to emails and voicemails inquiring about Fenway Park availability for large-scale events
- Assisting with creation of department strategic plan and event catalogues
- Supporting other departments, such as Fenway Park Concerts, Baseball Operations and FSM’s Sponsorship Consulting & Events teams as necessary with operational support
- Providing client hospitality support during Red Sox games at Fenway throughout the season as necessary
SPONSORSHIP CONSULTING
Department Overview:
The FSM Sponsorship Consulting team is responsible for the creation of sponsorship strategies and activation platforms as well as the evaluation and execution of partnership opportunities, working on behalf of blue chip brands such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dunkin’ Brands, Sunovion, Cavendish Farms, Drund, and Santander Bank.
Role Responsibilities:
Associates will be expected to develop the same skills and responsibilities as the rest of the Sponsorship Consulting team, including:
- Providing first-class, detail-oriented account service support to primary clients
- Providing creative recommendations for new concepts, sponsorship activation, or client promotions, with a priority on delivering short-term and long-term marketing objectives to the clients
- Preparing in-depth research and analytics, such as ROI on client sponsorship investment and competitor research
- Help in managing and executing client events, including but not limited to: player appearances, TV shoots, tabling and game sponsorships, ordering promotional items, creating detailed Run of Show and securing and managing third-party vendors
- Developing materials including new business pitches, strategic plans, sponsorship activation plans, proposals, and event recaps
- Providing client hospitality support during Red Sox games at Fenway throughout the season as necessary
EVENTS
Department Overview:
The FSM Events team is responsible for conceptualizing, managing and executing premiere events, VIP hospitality and activations for prominent brands and teams.
Role Responsibilities:
Associates will be expected to develop the same skills and responsibilities as the rest of the Events team, including:
- Working closely with clients and co-workers to plan all details leading up to events, including but not limited to: sponsorship packages, operations, logistics, budgeting and overall event run of show
- Participating in meetings to provide recommendations for new events, improving annual events, activation, and client promotions
- Providing customer service for Events such as our LFC Supporters Trips, Fenway Park Concerts Parties and Fantasy Camp, including but not limited to: taking inbound phone calls, responding to emails & voicemails, creating and adjusting customer reservations, and acting as on-site host during events
- Producing materials such as event scenario options, sponsorship activation plans, gifting, venue research, and event recaps
- Providing client hospitality support during Red Sox games at Fenway throughout the season as necessary
ADDITIONAL INFO
- There are various stages in our application process, and we expect to conclude and make offers by April 2023
- Associates will be paid on an hourly basis and are eligible for overtime
- Associates are not eligible for benefits or parking
- If available, and eligibility requirements are met, Associates will have the opportunity to apply for housing at a subsidized monthly rate (Boston office ONLY)
